The members of the Backward Class Commission had to study the Maratha community by various angles like socially, financially and educationally backward. There are about two lakh statements from across the state and 45 thousand Maratha families were surveyed. Apart from this, the commission has studied anthropology of writers like Iravati Karve, history, all types of information, old judiciary, constitutional provisions etc. All these things have studied for 100-125 pages by members of the Commission. Therefore, the report submitted to the court will be very big in size.
