Man booked for raping third wife, cheating her

A 34-year-old woman has lodged an FIR with Pune city police alleging that her husband had hidden facts about his previous marriages and that he and his father had been demanding dowry.

The woman from Dhanori road area has lodged the case with Vishrantwadi police station.

According to police, the incident took place from April 23 till now. The woman has also alleged that the accused used to have forceful sex with her even though she is pregnant. The accused had got divorced from his first wife. However, he married another woman but didn’t inform his current wife about his previous marriages.

Police have registered the case for offenses under sections 498a (harassment of married woman by husband, in-laws), 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 323 (assault), 504 (intentional insult) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police sub-inspector Suryavanshi is further investigating the case.
