Maharashtra rain update : Heavy rain forecast in Mumbai and Konkan coast, red alert in many districts
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Maharashtra rain update | It is raining heavily since two weeks in the state. In some areas, heavy rain has created havoc while in some places, it is drizzling. It is raining heavily from morning to evening. Rain has created havoc in western Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Konkan and day-to-day life has been disturbed. The IMD has forecast heavy rain in Mumbai and the Konkan coast.
According to available information, there is a likelihood of heavy rain in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar regions. KS Hosalikar has tweeted that as per the data available from satellite and radar, there is a possibility that Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar will receive heavy rain. There may be heavy rainfall for a few hours in these areas.
The monsoon has intensified in the state. Due to the incessant rain, the water level in many rivers and dams has increased. Very heavy rain has been forecast in Palghar, Pune city and Gadchiroli for next two days and a red alert has been issued. Meanwhile, heavy rain continues in Mumbai and Thane and the IMD had forecast heavy rain for three days from Tuesday.
