Maharashtra Prisons Department News | Jagadguru Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Bhajan and Abhang Competition: Kolhapur Central Jail gets Dnyanoba-Tukoba trophy; Yerawada Jail at second spot while Nashik Jail bags third spot

Competition was organised by Sharad Krida and Sanskrutik Pratishthan and State Prisons Department

PUNE : Maharashtra Prisons Department News | The team from Kalamba Central Jail Kolhapur has bagged the first prize at the first state-level Jagadguru Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Bhajan and Abhang Competition jointly organised by the Maharashtra Prisons Department and Sharad Krida and Sanskrutik Pratishthan. The team was handed over the Dnyanoba-Tukoba trophy and a certificate. The team from Yerawada Jail was at the second spot and the team from Nashik Central Jail was placed at the third spot. The teams were handed over Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Trophy and certificate, Sant Shaikh Mohammed Trophy and certificate.

 

The final round of the contest was held at the staff building at the Yerawada Jail on Wednesday. Nashik, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Taloja, Pune and Amravati Central Jails were the finalists. The prizes were presented by Chief Secretary of Home Department Dinesh Waghmare (Appeal and Security), Sharad Krida and Sanskrutik Pratishthan’s President and Chief Organiser of the contest Laxmikant Khabiya, businessman Vitthal Sheth Maniyar, Chief of the State Prisons Department and Addl DGP Amitabh Gupta, Special IGP Dr Jalinder Supekar, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons Yogesh Desai, DIG Prisons Swati Sathe, Nandkumar Bund were present. Taloja, Amravati and Nagpur teams got consolation prizes.
