ACB Trap On Talathi News | Notorious talathi arrested for accepting bribe of ₹50,000 by Sangli ACB

SANGLI : ACB Trap On Talathi News | The Sangli ACB has caught a talathi red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 for not taking action against a man for illegally storing sand. He has also been arrested. Meanwhile, the same talathi had been arrested on July 7, 2014 for accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. The case is pending in the court.

 

The accused has been identified as Balasaheb Shankar Jagtap (57), Talathi, Karajgi, Sangli district and a resident of Jat taluka, Sangli district). The complainant’s house is being constructed and he has purchased sand. Balasaheb Jagtap told him that he had illegally stored sand and demanded ₹50,000 on June 12, 2023 for not taking any action. Since the complainant did not want to pay a bribe, he had lodged a complaint with the ACB.

 

The complaint was verified on June 13, 2023 and it became clear that Jagtap was seeking a bribe of ₹50,000. ACB sleuths laid a trap opposite Jgatap’s house. Jagtap accepted a bribe of ₹50,000 in the presence of panches and he was caught red-handed.

 

 

Talathi Balasaheb Jagtap was arrested on July 7, 2014 while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. An FIR had been registered at the Miraj police station. The case is pending in the court.

 

Pune ACB SP Amol Tambe and Addl SP Vijay Chaudhary guided DySP Sandeep Patil, PI Dattatray Pujari, PI Vinayak Bhilare, policeman Pritam Chougule, Hrishikesh Badnikar, Ajit Patil, Salim Makandar, Sudarshan Patil, Ravindra Dhumal, Popat Patil, Seema Mane, Umesh Jadhav, Ramhari Waghmode and driver Vantmure in taking the action.
