Life imprisonment for milk adulteration, laws will reform- says Girish Bapat

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE-  Adulterants like Urea, glucose, fat, water as well as oil are widely used in milk adulteration to get more financial gains. The number of cases of food adulteration has been revealed already. Vulnerable substances make adverse effects on children’s health more. In the study conducted by the Indian Council for Medicines Research (ICMR), milk has been found to cause tuberculosis.

The legislation will be amended to make life imprisonment for milk and other food adulteration, and this proposal will be proposed in this year’s season. Guardian Minister Girish Bapat informed about it.

Girish Bapat replied to a question regarding milk adulteration in the Legislative Council on Thursday. The milk adulteration law will be reformed. He said that, A non-bailable warrant will be filed in case of adulteration in milk and other food adulteration, and they will be imprisoned for life and this proposal will be presented in the Winter Session.

The decision in a cabinet meeting

Meanwhile, in the cabinet meeting held on Sunday, a proposal for amendment of the law, for filing non-bailable warrants for adulteration of milk and other food items has been approved.
