Jalgaon: 35-year-old woman violated by brother-in-law; accused arrested 

Jalgaon: A 35-year-old widow was raped by her brother-in-law on Thursday (February 4) within the limits of MIDC Police station, the police said. The police have arrested the accused in the case.

According to MIDC police, the victim lived with her mother-in-law, father-in-law, children and brother-in-law. Her husband died a year ago.

When the woman woke in the middle of the night to go to the washroom, her brother-in-law tried to force himself on her, demanding a physical relationship. When the woman refused, he forcibly took her to the bathroom and raped her, the police said. Later the accused threatened to kill the woman if she told anyone about the incident.

Later, the woman lodged a complaint with MIDC police. Women sub-inspector Kanchan Kale recorded her statement and registered a case against the accused.
