Letter to DGP : Nashik CP Deepak Pandey apologies to Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat

Nashik : NpNews24 Online IPS Deepak Pandey |  The letter sent by Nashik Police Commissioner Deepak Pandey to the DGP levelling serious allegations against the revenue department has caused a huge uproar throughout the state. Pandey had alleged in the letter that revenue officers are like RDX and special executive magistrates are like detonators leading to creation of live bombs. The land mafia is looting the people in the district and revenue officers are with them. Hence, he had requested the DGP to take away the main powers of revenue officers and rural police SP’s special powers and give them to the CP. Later, it has been revealed that Pandey has apologised to Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat for his comments in the letter.

Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat is angry because of the letter sent by Pandey to the DGP seeking all powers of the revenue department. Thorat has taken a serious view on this issue and has hinted at complaining to CM Uddhav Thackeray, according to sources.

“If an officer makes any suggestions to improve the functioning of any department, they are welcome. However, it is wrong to blame revenue department officers and the entire department. An assessment of the police department can also be done. At present, former police chief of Mumbai Parambir Singh is on bail. In Pune, police officers had kidnapped a person and demanded a ransom and some encounter specialists are in jail. Some police officers are involved in bitcoin fraud. The police should give first attention to their department. The sand mafia is growing strong and there are irregularities in the functioning of the PDS and hooch sellers are having a field day,’’ said Balasaheb Thorat.
