Reliance Jio | Reliance Jio’s dominance in Maharashtra continues, 4 lakh customers added in May – TRAI

NpNews24 Online  –  Reliance Jio has added 4 lakh customers to its network in Maharashtra in May 2023, according to a report released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday. Second ranked Airtel added a nominal 24,000 new customers. Reliance Jio is number one in Maharashtra with 40.30 million customers.

The country’s giant Voda Idea i.e. Vi has once again suffered huge losses in the month of May. 3 lakh 18 thousand customers left the Voda-Idea network in May compared to April. With around 23.80 million users, it ranks second in the market. Bharti Airtel is at the third position with 21.16 million users. Airtel has added nearly 24 thousand users in the month of May.

In the wireless subscriber i.e. mobile connection market in India, Reliance Jio holds the top position with 44.06 percent subscribers. Vodafone Idea is second with 26.05% market share and Bharti Airtel is third with 23.14%. BSNL ranks fourth with 6.74 percent.

According to TRAI data, total mobile connections have increased in the month of May. About 73000 thousand new connections have been added in the month of May as compared to April. An increase of about 5 lakh 60 thousand new users seen in rural areas. The total number of connections in rural India rose to 51.69 million from 51.64 million in May. The number of wireless subscribers in the country has crossed 114.33 million. Jio seems to have benefited from the recently launched Jio India 4G phone
