ED Raid On IAS Officer | ED raids on Sanjeev Jaiswal put IAs officers in a dilemma; Senior officials meet CM and deputy CM to discuss issue
Pune : NpNews24 Online – ED Raid On IAS Officer | Many IAS officers in the state are worried after the ED action against IAS officer Sanjeev Jaiswal for his alleged involvement in the COVID jumbo centre scam. In the last 2/3 years, four/five IAS and IPS officers have been jailed for their role in the power struggle. Against this background, senior IAS and IPS officers met CM Shinde and Deputy CM Fadnavis to discuss the issue. (ED Raid On IAS Officer)
During the power struggle, senior IPS officer Rashmi Shukla and Parambir Singh were under a cloud because of various cases. In the TET scam, IAS officer Sushil Khodvekar was arrested after his name cropped up. Meanwhile, an FIR was registered against IPS officer Sourabh Tripathi in the extortion case and later, he was suspended. Since these cases were criminal cases, other IAS officers did not try to support them.
However, in the alleged irregularities in the BMC, the ED questioned Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal. Later, due to the raids on Jaiswal, IAS and IPS officers are worried and voiced their concern during their meeting with Shinde and Fadnavis.
In municipal corporations and other departments, several important matters are probed by the vigilance department and documents are submitted to senior officers. Now, IAS officers have remarked sarcastically that ED and CBI officers should be appointed and important files should be checked by them before they are signed. A senior IAS official said that various politicians pressurise them on several matters and they don’t want to be hounded by central investigative agencies.
