CM to participate in the global conference at Davos

CM to Share Vision of Maharashtra, Dialog with many dignitaries, meetings with investors, Expected maximum MOU agreements

Mumbai : Policenama onlineCM Eknath Shinde will be participating in the world economic conference to be held at Davos, Switzerland with a delegation. A number of MOUs with 20 industries amounting to about 1 lakh 40 thousand crores are in pipeline during this visit. This will be the highest amount of investment achieved by Maharashtra at the Davos conference to date. Along with this CM will have a dialog with dignitaries, investors, and chiefs of various industries from all over the globe. CM will be participating in this conference on the 16th and 17th of January. He will be accompanied by a delegation comprising Minister for Industries Uday Samant and other senior officers. This conference will conclude on 20th January.

 

The state is observing speedy growth in the field of infrastructure since the new government has taken hold of the state. During this conference, the focus will be given to sharing the strengths of Magnetic Maharashtra with the world and attracting investment in the state.

 

Itinerary at Davos
CM will depart for Zurich on Sunday, 15th January. He will inaugurate the Maharashtra Pavilion on Monday, 16th January. This fully equipped and marvelous pavilion is situated right in front of the India Pavilion at a prime location in Davos. This inauguration will be followed by MOUs with a few important industries. The Chief of the New Economy & Society of the World social forum and chief of Urban Transformation will also have a dialog with CM.

 

CM will arrive at the main welcome function at the congress center at 7.15 in the evening.
On Tuesday, 17th January, CM has meetings with the PM of Luxembourg, the PM of Jorden, the Information and Broadcasting Minister for Singapore, Delegates from Japan Bank, the Industries & Mines Minister for Saudi Arabia, and the Swiss India Chamber of Commerce. A few MOUs with various renowned industries will also take place at the Maharashtra Pavilion.

 

CM’s Address
CM will address a gathering at the Congress Centre on Tuesday at 3.45 PM. He will share his thoughts on ‘challenges posed by the changing climatic conditions to the development of cities and environment-friendly sustainable development.’

 

Dinner for Dignitaries
On Tuesday a grand feast has been organized on behalf of Maharashtra at 8 PM. Around 150 dignitaries from various sectors like industries, politics and others are invited to this dinner. A few central ministers will also join this special Maharashtrian feast.

 

Due to the Corona epidemic last two meetings of the World Economic Forum were conducted online mode. The meeting scheduled in January 2022 was conducted in May 2022. Against this background, the department of industries has prepared a master plan to impart an effective impression of Maharashtra at this conference. CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis have personally reviewed the readiness and given necessary instructions to the department in this regard.

 

The Grand Pavilion
This conference has the eyes of the world on it. It is expected that many delegates from all over the globe will visit this pavilion. An exhibition on Maharashtra’s development will be set in the pavilion in an ultra-modern and effective way. It will showcase various achievements of the state government achieved in the last 3-4 months. It will include Metro, Coastal Road, Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackray Maharashtra Sammruddhi Highway, the longest tunnel for the Mumbai-Pune missing link, use of electric vehicles in public transport, and steps taken for the protection of the environment.

 

What is the Davos Conference?
World Economic Forum is a private organization that was founded in 1971. It has acquired the status of a global organization having its headquarters in Geneva – the capital of Switzerland. The organization aims at promoting global regional and industrial development through amicable efforts of dignitaries active in the fields of global business, politics, education, and others. Around 2500 delegates participate in this conference and join only by invitation. The delegates include big industrialists, businessmen, and economists from all over the world.
