MUMBAI/PUNE : NpNews24 Online  – Pune PMC Property Tax | A BJP delegation met CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and demanded that the 40 per cent rebate in the property tax being given to Puneites should be continued. They also demanded that the difference in repair and maintenance expenditure from April 1, 2010 between 15 per cent and 10 per cent should not be recovered from property owners. Former mayor Murlidhar Mohol said that CM and deputy CM would hold a meeting next week to discuss the issue. (Pune PMC Property Tax)

Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, former mayor Mohol, MLA Madhuri Misal, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir and MLA Siddharth Shirole were present.

Two demands have been made in the petition. The 40 per cent rebate in the property tax should not be done away with for self use properties from August 1, 2019, Repair and maintenance expenditure from April 1, 2010 in the range of 15 per cent to 100 per cent should not be recovered from property owners.

Former mayor Murlidhar Mohol said, “The 40 per cent rebate being given in the property tax and more than 15 per cent of 100 per cent repair and maintenance expenditure has been discontinued from April 1, 2019. A motion had been passed in 2019 and 2022 by the PMC’s general body. A proposal had been sent to the state government that the concessions should continue. However, the MVA government did not take any decision. We have made demands to the state government based on the motion passed in 2019 and 2022 by the general body of PMC. A meeting would be held next week and we are confident that Puneites would hopefully get relief.”

“After we met the CM and deputy CM, the MVA’s MLAs woke up and hurriedly staged an agitation on the steps of the Legislative Council. Puneites will not be swayed by the last-minute agitation staged by these people,” he added.
