Woman arrested for killing her daughter-in-law by banging her head on the floor

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | A shocking incident has been reported wherein a woman banged her daughter-in-law’s head on the floor and killed her. The deceased had abused her mother-in-law after the latter’s leg had brushed her. The police have arrested the woman. (Pune Crime News)

 

The accused has been identified as Kamla Prabhakar Malvi (49), a resident of Lohegaon. The deceased has been identified as Ritu Ravindra Malvi (28). PSI Samu Ramkishor Chowdhary has lodged a complaint (127/23) at the Vimantal police station. The incident took place at Kalwad Vasti in Lohegaon on March 6 at 3 am.

 

According to the police, Ravindra and Ritu had a love marriage. Ravindra’s mother was opposed to the wedding. Ravindra and Ritu have a son. Ravindra’s mother was unhappy even 10 years had passed after the marriage. She used to quarrel with her daughter-in-law every day. She used to criticise her because she was not able to do house work, cooking and taking care of her son.

 

On March 6, when the mother-in-law was opening the door of the refrigerator kept in the bedroom, her leg brushed her daughter-in-law’s body. The daughter-in-law abused her. The mother-in-law also abused her and assaulted her. When Ritu fell on the floor, her mother-in-law banged her head on the floor and Ritu died. When Ritu was being taken to a hospital, the doctors declared her dead. The post-mortem report stated that Ritu had died due to internal bleeding in her head.

 

Ritu’s mother-in-law was saying that Ritu fell off the cot and had received injuries on her head. However, she stumbled while speaking and the police became suspicious. When the police probed deeper, they found that the two women used to fight each other frequently. The police grilled Ritu’s mother-in-law and she admitted that she had banged Ritu’s head on the floor. The police have arrested her and API Lahane is probing the case.
