ATS nabs Sanatan Sanstha member, recovers explosives used for bomb making

After getting specific information, sleuths from the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) swooped down on the house of a Sanatan Sanstha member in Nalasopara on Thursday night.

The raid continued till Friday early morning and ATS officials claimed to have recovered explosives used for bomb making from the shop of suspect Vaibhav Raut who has been detained.

ATS has also recovered eight country bombs from his house.

According to ATS, gunpowder or sulfur was found inside the shop in large quantities, while some detonators were also recovered which can be used for making a dozen bombs that has gunpowder.

ATS officials had kept a watch on the suspect for long and finally his house was raided on Thursday night. Forensic team as well as Dog squad had accompanied the ATS during the raid.

Vaibhav Raut’s lawyer Sanjeev Punalekar said that ATS has arrested him without information. We don’t know what kind of law is being followed in the state and country. We will take legal action in this case, he added.
