4 People dead, and 16 injured as fire breaks out in residential high-rise building.

Nearly 16 people suffered injuries and four people died after a fire broke in a posh residential building in the Parel area in the Mumbai on Wednesday morning.

The level-2 fire which broke out in Crystal Tower in near hindmata cinema has been doused off while but the cooling operation is still going on.

This incident took place on the 12th floor and 13th floor of the building of Crystal Tower near Parel near Hindamata cinema at 8:30 am.

According to police, “the fire is due to the short circuit. The people stranded in the building came out with the help of a crane. Eight people came out of the building. The injured were rushed to Mumbai based KEM Hospital, which is located quite close to where the fire broke out.

Total 20 were rushed to Hospital of which 16 were brought injured in the hospital which includes ten male and six female. OF which the doctors pronounced four were brought dead which includes three male and one female who is a senior citizen. The condition of others stable, “said Avinash Supe, Dean at KEM Hospital.

Fire brigade search operation is still going on at the building Crystal Tower to search for people trapped inside. More than 100 people were living in this resident.

The smoke spread through the building’s staircases and lifts were not used as the precautionary measure. Snorkel leaders were used to rescuing residents standard in the building, an official in the fire brigade control room told.

“In residency Crystal Tower there is a girl who saves their family and the others too. When she knows that there is some problem in her home she said to there father but her father ignore her, but after some time everyone get shouting, the girl came with some wet clothes and said to everyone to put it on their mouth and the nose also, so that they can breathe easily, this girl is also saved so many people by this process.”

A notice under Section 353 of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act (MMC Act) 1988 for unauthorized occupation was served in 2016 by building proposal department of BMC to the builder/developer along with architects and 58 occupants of the Crystal Tower. After which prosecution was launched matter is subjudice in court.
