19 passengers injured in two accidents

Pandharpur, Solapur: NP NEWS 24 – It’s the Diwali season and bus tickets fare have risen exponentially. Somehow people manage to get the tickets and head to their native places.

However, in this festival season there are some incidents too. A total of 19 passengers sustained injuries after the state transport (ST) bus and a private travels bus, were travelling in met with accident in Pandharpur. The buses were going from Pune to Barshi and Latur.

Both accidents happened in the wee hours and it is suspected that the drivers fell asleep at the wheels.

ST bus from Pune to Barshi had met with accident on the Kurduwadi road in Tembhurni. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the bus. In this 12 passengers were injured. Seven of them are seriously injured and are being treated at hospitals in Tembhurni and Solapur.

A private bus going from Pune to Latur turned upside down near Ichgaon. Seven passengers were seriously injured. Police reached the spot after getting the information of this accident. The injured persons have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
