Yet another sex racket busted in…

MUMBAI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE-  Four days to new years and we already have a list of busted sex rackets. Recently, a sex racket was busted in Bhopal at Ashoke Garden where 13 were arrested among which nine were men and four were women.

Followed by that, a major flesh trade in Palghar district, Satpati police officials busted a sex racket on the first day of the New Year. In this case, police have registered a complaint against the ‘broker’ and arrested him. The accused, Rajesh Meher, is a resident of Satpati area and was running a sex racket. On 2^nd January, the court sent him to five days of police custody.

The 38-year-old accused took a house on rent in the Chunabhatti Shirgaon area of Satpati and used it as a hub for flesh trade. It was speculated that the accused was running a sex racket from this location from the past four to five months. Cops got a tip-off that Meher was involved in dubious activities and soon after, laid a trap to nab the accused red-handed.

On January 1, the police team sent a dummy customer to Meher’s rented room. He found out that a sex racket was being operated from Rose Apartment, C wing, Chunabhatti Shirgaon. After receiving money from the fake customer, the broker arranged a woman from Diva. When the woman arrived at the scene of crime, the dummy customer gave the signal to the cops and they nabbed the accused red-handed.

During interrogation, it was learnt that the accused lured vulnerable women on the pretext of helping them earn money and pushed them in a prostitution racket. The police filed a complaint against accused Rajesh under IPC section 370(a) (2). There is a possibility that the sex racket network was spread over a large area and further investigation is going on.
