Woman Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer of Palghar Mahavitaran division nabbed by ACB while accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe

Palghar : NpNews24 Online  – Palghar ACB Trap | A team of Palghar Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a woman Superintending Engineer Kiran Harish Nagaonkar (45) and Executive Engineer Pratap Machiye (50) of MSDCL, Palghar while accepting a bribe. ACB laid a trap and caught them red-handed. The operation was conducted by the Palghar ACB team on Monday at the office of Pratap Machiye. (Palghar ACB Trap)

The 37-year-old complainant lodged a complaint with the Palghar ACB on Wednesday. Two to three complaints have been filed against the complainant under MSEDCL and both of the officials demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh to escape from the action. But the complainant said that the amount of bribe was too high and after a compromise, it was settled at Rs 1.5 lakhs.

Later, Palghar ACB investigated and verified the complaint. The team laid a trap at the MSEDCL office. Pratap Machiye was caught red-handed in his office while accepting a bribe of Rs1 lakh from the complainant. And then Kiran Nagaonkar was detained.

The action was taken by DSP Navnath Jagtap, PI Swapan Biswas, police constables Amit Chavan, Vilas Bhoye, Nitin Pagdhare, Nisha Manjrekar, Deepak Sumda, Navnath Bhagat and Police Naik Sakharam Dode and Swati Taravi under the guidance of SP Sunil Lokhande, Additional SP Anil Gherdikar.
