Man murdered suspecting love affair; a murder case registered at Loni Kalbhor police station after court order

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | A 23-year-old man’s body was found in a water tank at a construction site. His mother approached the court. A case of murder has been registered almost two years later. (Pune Crime)

The victim has been identified as Niranjan Mahadev Katkar (23) from Fursungi. Aruna Mahadev Katkar (42) from Fursungi filed a complaint at the Loni Kalbhor Police Station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Bibhishan Mane, Sanjay Harichandra Mane, Sachin Dagdu Khochre, Hanumant Ankush Kaldhane from Fursungi, along with two women. The incident took place between 11 pm on 3 April 2021 and 6 pm on 4 April 2021 at a water tank at a construction site at Swaraj Park in Haveli taluka.

According to the police, Niranjan Katkar died by drowning in the water tank. In the post-mortem, the doctors reported death by drowning. Loni Kalbhor police had reported an accidental death. Niranjan had an affair with a woman. His mother suspected that the accused killed him by drowning him in a water tank. So she went to the court. The court directed the police to file a case of murder under section 156 (3) and ordered an investigation. Accordingly, the police have registered a case. PSI Hambir is conducting the investigation.
