Vashi Court issues notice to MNS President Raj Thackeray, directs him to be present on February 6

 

 

Mumbai: The Vashi court in Mumbai has issued notice to Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday and directed him to be present before it on February 6.

 

Thackeray has been booked under sections 153, 504, 505 (1) (b), and 117 of the Indian Penal Code and section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.

 

In 2014, Thackeray had visited Navi Mumbai and asked his supporters to ensure that no tax was charged at any toll naka across Maharashtra. Incited by his provocative speech, MNS leader Gajanan Kale and party workers had vandalized the toll booths in Vashi and across the state. In this regard, a case was registered at Vashi Police Station on January 30, 2014.
