Taj Mahal Would Not Open From Today, Order Cites Risk Of COVID-19 Spread

Agra : According to Unlock 2.0 guidelines, monuments and historical sites across the country are to be opened from July 6, i.e. today, but in view of the increasing cases of coronavirus infection in Agra, the local administration has decided to keep the Taj Mahal and other monuments closed for the time being. It will not be opened right now. Agra District Magistrate Prabhu N Siangh took this decision in a meeting with the Archaeological Department. This information was tweeted from the Twitter handle of the district magistrate’s office.

The District Magistrate’s Office informed that in view of the present situation of Coronavirus in Agra, all the protected monuments like Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Akbar Tomb Sikandra etc. should not be opened till further orders till further orders.
