State excise department Deputy Commissioner suspended

AURANGABAD: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- In a surprising move, the state government suspended Aurangabad excise department Deputy Commissioner Sangeeta Darekar on Wednesday night. The suspension order was executed on Thursday.

A departmental enquiry has also been ordered against her.

After learning about her suspension, Sangeeta’s condition deteriorated and she had to be admitted in a hospital.

According to officials, Sangeeta had been in charge of Aurangabad division for the last one and half years. All the eight districts in Marathwada were under her control.

Now her charge has been handed over to Pune division’s Deputy Commissioner Arjun Ovhal.

Officials said that it is yet to be ascertained why Sangeeta was suspended. Before being posted in Aurangabad, she was posted in Kolhapur.
