Staring at women is a sexual offense: Aurangabad court

Aurangabad : The Aurangabad sessions court sentenced a man to six months rigorous imprisonment and levied a fine of Rs 10,000 for staring and following a 13-year-old girl. Aurangabad special court judge A.S. Khadse gave the order in this regard.

Aurangabad police had registered a case under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and POSCO act. Six witnesses gave testimony in the court in this case.

The accused was arrested in 2017 for allegedly harassing a 13-year-old minor. According to the police, the accused identified as Damodar Raada used to follow the minor to school, park and wherever she went. He also used to sit in front of her house constantly to get her sight. Once when the girl was visiting her uncle, the accused her followed her there. Upon complaining about him, her uncle caught him and handed him over to the police.
