Shiv Sena takes a jibe at Opposition in its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’

Mumbai: The ruling Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ has hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), blaming the party for the rising coronavirus cases in Maharashtra.

“Opposition in Maharashtra should understand that AIIMS is not a constituent party of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. People need to act responsibly to avoid lockdown. Opposition parties should also be aware of their responsibilities,” said Sena in its mouthpiece.

“The situation will get out of hand if the cases keep increasing. Top medical institutions like AIIMS have raised awareness of the danger. Before raising the issue, Opposition needs to understand the pandemic situation in the state,” reads the editorial.

Over the past few days, the number of corona cases in Maharashtra has started to increase once again. Many ministers of the state and leaders from ruling parties have also been infected with the corona. As the number of Covid-19 cases are increasing, a fresh blame game between the ruling party and the opposition has also started.

Bhujbal is the seventh minister to be infected by the novel coronavirus this month. Over the last few days, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Cabinet Minister Jayant Patil and NCP leader Eknath Khadse have tested positive.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday informed that the coming eight days will decide whether there will be a lockdown in the state. District collectors can also impose stricter norms for lockdown, as has been done in Amravati and Achalpur where a fresh lockdown comes into force from Monday evening.
