Pune: Yerawada jail staffer arrested on bribe charge

Pune: Sandeep Salunkhe, a Yerawada central jail staffer has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on charges of taking a bribe from a woman to let her give some material to her brother-in-law who is lodged inside the Yerawada jail.

The arrest was made by the sleuths of the ACB on Thursday after the woman filed a complaint about this. Salunkhe, who is posted on the jail gate, had demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant to let her give some material to the inmate.

The woman agreed to his demand and they settled for a bribe of Rs 4500. Later, the ACB team laid a trap and nabbed Salunkhe while accepting the bribe.
