Pune: Yerawada police officer threatens youth with mother’s wrongful arrest in child sexual offence, arrested for demanding bribe
Pune: Prashant Kondiram Kirve, a police sub-inspector posted at the Yerawada police station has been arrested on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 35 thousand. PSI Kirve had threatened members of a family to make them co-accused in a child sexual abuse case and then took the bribe amount to let them go.
A FIR has been registered against Kirve at the Yerawada police station. The family member, who was threatened by Kirve, has filed the complaint against him. Kirve is posted at the Laxmi Nagar police chowky under the Yerawada police station.
Vijaymala Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police of the ACB is investigating the case further. Superintendent of Police (ACB) Rajesh Bansode has appealed to citizens to approach the ACB in case any government employee demands bribe for the official work.
