Pune Weather Update | Light Rainfall Expected till August 4 with Overcast Conditions

Pune: Pune Weather Update | According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city will have moderate rain and grey cloudy weather until August 4. The rainfall activity in Pune has diminished in recent days, with Shivajinagar, Lohegaon, and Chinchwad getting 0.6mm, 0.4mm, and 0.5mm of rain, respectively, in the previous 24 hours. According to IMD personnel, these stations have only seen rain since the morning.

It had rained excessively in the past week boosting the reservoirs. Currently, the decrease in rainfall can be attributed to multiple factors, including the weakening of systems over south Chhattisgarh and Odisha and the northward shift of the monsoon trough, along with the southward movement of the sheer zone. As a result, Madhya Maharashtra, which includes Pune district, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions, can expect low rainfall in the coming days. However, the Konkan region is likely to maintain its current rainfall activity.

The IMD official also mentioned that the ghat areas in the district could receive isolated heavy rainfall in the next few days. Mahabaleshwar recorded 52mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, while other stations reported rainfall ranging from 0.2mm to 5mm.
