Pune: Minor Girl Molested by Threatening Acid Attack in Saswad; Hadapsar Police Initiates Investigation

Pune: A 25-year-old man was continuously chasing and trying to speak with a 17-year-old girl. When a girl refused to speak with him, he allegedly threatened her by throwing acid on her body. In this case, a victim girl filed a police complaint at Hadapsar Police Station.

The 17-year-old victim girl resides in the Satavwadi area of Saswad. The accused, identified as Ganesh Sharad Mohite, a resident of Lakshmi Narayan Colony, Satavwadi, has been acquainted with the girl and is in one-sided love with her.

In the last year, the accused has been constantly chasing the girl and trying to speak with her. He was continuously loitering around her in college and other places wherever she went. Furthermore, he was also harassing the girl by calling on her phone from different mobile numbers.

Shockingly, on Monday (11th) at around 8:30 p.m., when the victim girl went to Saswad Road to eat panipuri with her friend, the accused again chased her. He went towards the girl and asked her to speak. When the girl refused to talk with him, the enraged accused abused her and threatened her that he would throw an acid on her if she did not speak with him.

Furthermore, he also said that if she complained about him to anybody, no one could do anything to him. After the incident, the victim immediately rushed to Hadapsar police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. Accordingly, police booked the accused under IPC 354, 354d, 341, 504, 506, and the POCSO Act. Further investigation in this case is being conducted by Women Assistant Police Inspector Varsha Dongre.
