Pune Sizzles as Temperatures Soar in the City, Heatwave Grips City

Pune: As the scorching sun continues to blaze over Pune city, residents grapple with increasing temperatures, marking a significant uptick in both minimum and maximum temperatures in the city. Today, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 18.9 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius, plunging Punekars into the throes of escalating heat.

According to the weather forecast department, Pune is bracing for a further rise in temperatures, with estimates suggesting an increase of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days. This surge in temperature has made it difficult for commuters to travel during the day, as residents are grappling with heatwave problems. Similarly, the temperatures at night are also offering little respite, as the increasing minimum temperature further provides no relief to the people.

The trend isn’t limited to Pune alone, as internal parts of Maharashtra are also slated to experience a similar rise in temperature in the next 2 to 3 days. Meanwhile, the weather forecast department has issued warnings of hot and humid conditions over parts of Kokan during March 26 and 27.

Today Ahmednagar recorded a minimum temperature of 13.7 degrees Celsius, while Yavatmal and Akola districts saw the mercury soar to 40.5 degrees Celsius, underscoring the widespread impact of the heatwave in the internal parts of the state.
