Pune Schools Closed | Heavy rain: Schools in remote areas of Pune district closed for two days

PUNE: Pune Schools Closed | Orders have been issued to keep schools in remote areas of Pune district closed on Thursday and Friday. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the heavy rain in ghat areas of the district on Wednesday.

 

District Collector and Chief of District Disaster Management Authority Dr Rajesh Deshmukh has issued orders announcing closure of schools located in remote areas for two days i.e. Thursday and Friday. Anganwadis in these areas will also be shut for two days.

 

The collector has ordered that 355 schools located in remote areas in Ambegaon, Khed, Junnar, Bhor, Purandar, Mulshi and Maval talukas should be shut for two days.

 

 

It is necessary for the Block Education Officer and CDPO to be present in their areas to ensure that all students are safe. Teachers and principals should be present in the schools. The order is applicable to anganwadi, primary, secondary, zilla parishad, aided and private schools. Schools and anganwadis in others will continue to function as usual.

 

 

In the last two days, the intensity of the rain has increased in Pune district and an alert has been issued to people staying in remote areas. A two-day holiday has been declared for schools located in remote areas and further decisions will be taken based on the intensity of the rain. The Pune district administration is on alert and is taking all necessary measures.
