Pune News | Builder DSK’s Assets Seized! Depositors Seek Justice

Pune : Pune News |  The ongoing case of defrauding depositors of crores of rupees by builder Deepak Sakharam Kulkarni, commonly known as DSK, has taken another turn as the authorities continue to seize his assets. A recent affidavit submitted by the Financial Offenses Wing in the Mumbai High Court reveals that 335 immovable properties and 46 vehicles of various companies and private use have been confiscated so far.

The case has caused immense distress among the depositors who have lost their hard-earned money, and their quest for justice continues. Advocate Chandrakant Bidkar, representing the depositors, has filed a criminal petition in the High Court, urging that none of DSK’s assets be excluded from confiscation proceedings until the defrauded depositors’ money is recovered.

The Bombay High Court bench of Justice Revati Mohite-Dhere and Justice Gauri Godse heard the petition and ordered the police to provide information about the properties seized and auctioned. The police complied by submitting an affidavit, shedding light on the progress of the case.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde intervened, directing the Pune Police to investigate the depositors’ application seeking the return of their money. The police have submitted their findings to the Chief Minister, adding to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding this high-profile case.

While all the accused in the crime have been granted bail and are currently out of jail, the depositors have yet to receive any relief. Advocate Bidkar’s petition seeks to ensure that the court takes into consideration the depositors’ interests and rights while evaluating the situation.

As part of the investigative measures, authorities have frozen 276 bank accounts linked to DSK, his family, and their companies, containing a sum of Rs. 12 crore nine lakh 74 thousand 715. The depositors hope that this amount can be utilized to recover some of their losses. However, the final decision on this matter is yet to be made.

In a noteworthy development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has excluded three properties seized from DSK in this case. Special court orders led to the exclusion of immovable properties in Kondhwa, Fursungi, and Dhayari from the confiscation process. Simultaneously, the authorities have identified 19 additional properties belonging to DSK, and a proposal for their confiscation has been forwarded to the Home Department.
