Pune | Puneite Dr Aniruddha Joshi honoured with StartUp India Award

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune-based Dr Aniruddha Joshi has won the StartUp India Award instituted by the central government for innovations in the Indian industrial sector. Dr Joshi has been awarded for his innovative pulse-testing device ‘Nadi Tarangini’.

 

Dr Joshi’s innovation was selected from among 2,177 applications. In all, 46 applications were shortlisted for the award.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the award concept in 2016. It covers eight sectors including agriculture, health, trade, technology, and import-export. The objective behind the award is to strengthen the country in the 21st century by encouraging idea-generation by the youth. The emphasis is on solving problems faced by the youth. The award was instituted in 2020. It is the second year of the award. The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry announces the winners of the award.

 

The award was given away to representative winners on Saturday in New Delhi in view of the pandemic. Dr Aniruddha Joshi has developed the device using electronic systems and artificial intelligence (AI) as an alternative to the ancient pulse testing method in Ayurveda called ‘Nadi Pariksha’. It can also be used on the cellphone.

 

Dr Joshi has also developed another device called ‘Turiya’, which updates its users about their health condition. Dr Joshi’s devices are being used in 12 countries. Around one lakh people have been tested till date, data about these people has been gathered.
