Pune Politics News | Shiv Sena’s Nana Bhangire Tipped for Key Role in Pune’s Vidhan Parishad

Pune : Pune Politics News | Shiv Sena, a party with no Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Pune city and district, might now secure representation through the Vidhan Parishad (State Legislative Council). According to sources, Nana Bhangire, the city chief of Shiv Sena, is being considered as the frontrunner for the Governor-appointed member position. The Supreme Court has cleared the way for the appointment of 12 MLAs appointed by the Governor, and soon, 12 individuals will have the opportunity to hold the MLA post through the Vidhan Parishad. It is anticipated that these members will be chosen from Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Sources suggest that Shiv Sena is likely to gain representation for the city through their faction. With no MLAs in Pune city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, or the entire district, Shiv Sena views this as an opportunity to strengthen their party organization ahead of the upcoming municipal elections. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s trusted city chief, Nana Bhangire, has emerged as a strong contender for the Legislative Council seat.

Bhangire, the first corporator to support Shinde from the city, has played a pivotal role in establishing the party organization and securing funds through the government. His dedication and contributions make him a viable candidate for a prominent position within the party. Consequently, Bhangire has been stationed in Mumbai for the past two days, as confirmed by his close associates. Alongside Bhangire, sources also suggest that the name of former minister Vijay Shivtare from the district is being considered for the position.

If Shiv Sena successfully secures representation through the Vidhan Parishad, it would mark a significant development for the party in Pune. This strategic move would allow them to expand their political influence and strengthen their presence in the city and district. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the upcoming municipal elections will undoubtedly play a crucial role in determining the future direction of various political parties in Pune.
