Pune: Police Sub-Inspector Raped 33-Year-Old Woman Enticing Help in Police Recruitment Examination

Pune: A shocking incident has come to the fore in the Shivajinagar Gaothan area, in which a 33-year-old woman was trapped in love by a police sub-inspector on the pretext of helping her for the police exam and maintaining illicit sexual relations with her. Shockingly, when the accused learned about a woman’s pregnancy, he forced the victim woman to have an abortion.

This incident took place between August 2017 and November 2022 at Shivajinagar Gaothan. In this regard, the victim woman filed a complaint against the accused police sub-inspector, Kiran Mahamuni, at Shivajinagar Police Station.

The accused, Kiran Mahamuni, is a police sub-inspector. As per the complaint, the victim woman was preparing for a police exam, during which she met Kiran Mahamuni. Mahamuni promised the girl to help her in her preparation for the exam. After that, the accused gained the victim’s trust and trapped her in his love.

Luring her marriage promise, the accused took her to one house in Shivajinagar Gaothan and repeatedly maintained forceful sexual relations with her. When the accused learned that the victim girl had become pregnant, he took her to a hospital in Jamkhed Taluka in Amhednagar and forced her to have an abortion.

After this, the woman filed a complaint against the accused at the police station. Accordingly, police booked a case against the accused under IPC 376, 377, and 312. Further investigation in this regard is being conducted by the female police sub-inspector, Kale.
