Pune: In a decisive operation conducted by the Pune police under the guidance of Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, a parolee, previously convicted for heinous crimes, was apprehended in Kondhwa while attempting to sell illegal firearms. The swift action led by a dedicated team of officers resulted in the confiscation of a country-made pistol along with live cartridges from the accused, who had absconded after being granted parole from Ahmednagar Visapur Jail.

Police Constable Kharpude received intelligence indicating the presence of the parolee, who did not return to jail following his parole release, at Khadi Machine Chowk in Kondhwa. Acting on the tip-off, the police team swiftly laid a trap and successfully detained the suspect, subsequently conducting a thorough search. During the search, a village-made pistol equipped with a magazine, along with three live cartridges valued at Rs. 40,600, were seized from the suspect’s possession.
