Pune Police MCOCA Action | Action under MCOCA taken against three criminals of Bopodi; CP has taken action against 37 gangs so far
PUNE : Pune Police MCOCA Action | Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has taken action against Ganesh Vishnu Adagale alias Sundri Ganya, who had created a reign of terror in Bopodi and two of his accomplices under MCOCA. The CP has so far taken action against 37 organised criminal gangs.
The complainant who stays in Bopodi and sells vegetables, had gone to the petrol pump to fill petrol in his vehicle. At that time, Ganesh Adagale and his accomplices broke the pipeline at the petrol station and pushed aside his vehicle. When the complainant questioned him, accused Vishnu Adagale and his aides pushed the complainant aside and abused him. They told the complainant that they were ‘bhais’ of the area and assaulted him on his head with a sickle. They threatened other customers at the pumps by displaying sickle in the air.
The incident took place on June 30 at Chhajed petrol pump at Bopodi. An FIR has been registered at the Khadki police station under sections 307, 323, 504, 506, 34 of the IPC, Arm Act, Maharashtra Police Act and Criminal Law Amendment Act.
The police have apprehended gang leader Ganesh Vishnu Adagale alias Sundri Ganya (20), a resident of Dapodi and his two minor aides. The accused are on police records. The gang leader is at Yerawada Central Jail at present. The minor boys have been sent to the Observation Home. Preventive action was taken against him many times but there was no improvement in their behaviour.
Senior PI Rajendra Sahane had sent a proposal to Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma through DCP Shashikant Borate about including MCOCA charge in the FIR registered at the Khadki police station. The Addl CP examined the proposal and gave his permission to include MCOCA charges in the FIR. The CP has taken action against 37 organised gangs so far and such action will be taken in the future also.
The action was taken under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Shashikant Borate, ACP Aarti Bansode by Sr PI Rajendra Sahane, PI Mansingh Patil, PSI Anna Gunjal, PSI Santosh Bhandwalkar, policeman of the surveillance unit Rajkiran Pawar and Ramesh Jadhav in taking the action.
