Pune police arrests gangster Nilesh Ghaiwal and gang under MCOCA

The Pune city police have arrested a gangster identified as Nilesh Ghaiwal and his gang, booked under sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), who was involved in a car theft case registered last year. He was arrested from Yerwada jail where he was recently remanded by Pune Rural Police for one year.

The arrested have been identified as Nilesh Bansilal Ghaiwal (44), Santosh Anand Dhumal (38) and Musab alias Musa Ilahi Sheikh (29). Kunal, Kandhare, Akshay Gogavale, Vipul Mazhire and 3 others have been booked and are yet to be arrested.

According to the police, the plaintiff owns a garage in Bhusari Colony. Last year, the plaintiff had parked a Mahindra pick up van in his garage. At this time, Santosh Dhumal forcibly took away the car by threatening and abusing the plaintiff. Accordingly, the plaintiff had lodged a complaint with the anti-ransom squad. Santosh Dhumal and Musa, the main accomplices of the gang, were later arrested in connection with the case. During the investigation, police found gangster Nilesh Ghaiwal involvement in the crime.

Police have since arrested Nilesh Ghaiwal in connection with the case. He was arrested by the anti-ransom squad from Yerawada jail on Tuesday. He will now be sent to jail for 3 years under MCOCA.

The action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and led by a team of Deputy Commissioner Srinivasa Ghadge, Assistant Commissioner Laxman Borate, Anti-Ransom Squad Inspector of Police Balaji Pandhare, Sub-Inspector Vijay Jhanjhad, Shrikant Chavan, Constable Vinod Salunkhe, Pradip Shitole, Vijay Gurav, Shailesh Surve, Surendra Jagdale, Sachin Ahiwale. , Sangram Shingare, Praveen Padwal and Pradip Gade, Rupali Karnawar, Asha Kolekar.
