Pune PMC Property Tax News | Property owners will have to pay more tax for extra construction
PUNE : Pune PMC Property Tax News | The property tax department of the PMC examined 25 commercial properties at Narhe, Ambegaon Khurd, Wadgaon Budruk and Wadgaon Khurd. Properties having rooftop, side margin, front margin were located and revised tax was collected. A drive was also held to recover pending dues.
Property tax is the main source of revenue for the civic body. The property tax department is aiming to recover the maximum amount of property tax as per the objectives mentioned in the PMC budget. Accordingly, examination of various properties was carried out under the leadership of chief of property tax department Ajit Deshmukh on Tuesday. During the examination, properties having rooftop, side margin and front margin were located. Cheques of pending dues were collected from owners of some properties. Deshmukh said that some properties had been sealed.
The properties from whom taxes have not been collected were examined and hotel side margin, use of terraces, unauthorised godowns were checked. Three times tax was levied on some properties. In next few days, such checking will continue and extra construction, unauthorised use will be examined and taxes will be levied on properties from whom taxes have not been collected and pending dues will also be collected, Deshmukh said.
