Pune: Pitbull-Class Dog Attack Prompts Legal Action Against Owner in Parvati Area

Pune: On Thursday night, at around 10:45 p.m., a Pitbull dog unleashed a vicious attack on an 18-year-old, leaving him with injuries in Shahu Colony, Laxminagar area. This is the second such incident in the locality, following a similar attack on January 21.

The victim, Tanveer Ramzan Syed, a resident of Shahu Colony, Laxminagar Parvati, has filed a formal complaint against Aditya Nitin Andekar, a 25-year-old resident of Laxminagar, Parvati, in this case. The Parvati police station has registered a case against Andekar under IPC 289, 323, 504, and 506.

According to the police report, the incident unfolded as Aditya Andekar and his friends were seated near a wall and engaged in a bonfire on Thursday night. Allegedly, an ash basket on the wall fell onto Aditya, leading to his fury. In response, Aditya verbally abused Tanveer, accusing him of intentionally causing the incident. The altercation escalated when Aditya physically assaulted Tanveer and, shockingly, set his Pitbull dog on him, reportedly stating, “Sara bit him.”

The Pitbull attacked Tanveer, causing injuries to his hand and back. Additionally, Aditya allegedly threatened Tanveer against reporting the incident to the police. The victim, undeterred, lodged a complaint with the Parvati Police Station, leading to the registration of the case.

Sub-Inspector of Women Police Jadhav is currently heading the investigation into this incident.
