Pune: Classmate Exploits Minor Girls Vulnerability; Molests 16-Year-Old Girl in School Rikshaw

Pune: Yesterday, a 16-year-old boy from Bhairavnagar was booked by the Vishrantwadi police under POCSO for alleged molestation of a minor girl. The accused is said to have exploited the minor girl sexually while going to the school in Rikshaw.

This police action was taken on the basis of a complaint filed by a 35-year-old woman living in Dhanori. The victim girl’s mother lodged a complaint against the accused at Vishrantwadi police station on Friday, February 2.

The accused and the victim girl study at the same school, and both go to school in the same rickshaw. On Thursday morning, the victim girl was molested by the accused when he and his brother were alone in the rikshaw along with the victim girl. He misappropriately touched the girl and also made some unwelcome advances towards her.

Distressed by this fact, the girl reported the entire incident to her mother after school. However, the girl’s mother initially did not pay attention to it, considering it would have happened unintentionally by the accused.

The next day, when the girl again complained the same thing to her mother, the victim girl’s mother rushed to Vishrantwadi police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. Accordingly, police booked the juvenile accused under IPC 354, 354A, and the POCSO Act.

Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Mali.
