Pune Pedestrian hit by auto rickshaw; dies on spot

PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- In a tragic incident, a person lost his life in a tempo collision.

Tempo was at high speed and velocity and gradually wheels of the autorickshaw collided with the pedestrian who was severely injured and finally died on the spot.

The incident took place in Shukrawar Peth area of Pune in a broad daylight at around 4 o’clock on October 27.

A complaint has filed against a 43 year old person in regard to this case at police station. As soon as police received the information, they rushed to the spot.

According to Police, the accident took place near Sonai Machinery and steel shop in Shukrawar Peth area. An unknown person was walking at the corner of the road, when suddenly an auto-rickshaw came towards it at a high speed and hit him. After which, the auto-rickshaw driver immediately fled away from the spot leaving the injured person on the road instead of taking him to hospital according to the people present at the spot.

Soon after the accident, the injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital but it was too late by then as he died in the hospital while undergoing treatment.

The auto-rickshaw driver since after the incident has absconded and police is in search of him and is probing into the case for more details.

Shukrawar Peth has a quite busy traffic all the time and is one of the most busiest places of the heart of Pune city. The auto-drivers seen driving in this area are usually careless about their driving and while some drivers of this area have been seen modifying traffic rules as per their wish.

The auto drivers need to be really very careful while driving!
