Pune: One injured in a gunfire at Pune-Nagar highway, accused absconding

Pune: A man was shot by a group of miscreants near Lonikand village on the Pune-Nagar highway on Tuesday (February 9), the police said.

According to the police, Sachin Shinde was shot dead by a group of unidentified men on the Nagar-Pune highway around noon. The accused, who fired two rounds, fled from the crime scene.

Sachin Shinde was admitted to a private hospital with serious injuries, the police said. Sachin continues to be in a critical condition. Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot to catch the accused.

The incidents of firing in Pune district are increasing day by day. This is the third such incident in the last one month. Two incidents of gun shooting had taken place in the last 20 days.

Shooting incident took place in the Katraj area at midnight on Republic Day. Dattawadi police had set a trap and arrested the accused, Ajay Ghadge and Ganesh Pawar.
