Pune News | Supriya Sule Writes to Railway Minister After RPF Jawan’s Firing Leaves Four Dead on Mumbai-Bound Train

Pune: Pune News | In a shocking incident, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawan opened fire on board a train in Maharashtra, claiming the lives of four individuals, including another RPF jawan and three civilians. The incident occurred near the Palghar railway station, approximately 100 km from Mumbai, as the train was en route from Jaipur to Mumbai.

The accused jawan, identified as Chetan Kumar, unleashed a hail of bullets from his Gun, resulting in the tragic deaths of ASI Tika Ram, his fellow RPF colleague, and three innocent civilians. The horrifying incident has sent shockwaves through the region, leaving the community in a state of grief and disbelief.

 

Following the violent episode, Chetan was swiftly apprehended by the Government Railway Police (GRP). The motive behind the jawan’s extreme actions remains a subject of investigation, and authorities are determined to uncover the reasons behind this devastating act of violence.

 

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from leaders and public figures, with Supriya Sule, Working President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Member of Parliament for Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency, expressing her grave concern over the matter. Sule wrote on twitter and urged the Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav, to take serious note of the incident and ensure immediate action is taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
