Pune News: Seven new roads to be constructed to reduce traffic congestion in Chikhali and Talwade areas

PUNE / PIMPRI:  NpNews24 Online -Pune News |  The civic administration has speeded up the work of seven new roads to solve traffic congestion problems in Chikhali and Talwade. The collector’s office has issued instructions about acquiring land for the road. The PCMC has organised a special meeting to discuss the issue. (Pune News)

Traffic jams have become a regular sight in Chikhali and Talwade due to narrow roads. Local residents are complaining bitterly about this and a demand was made to the PCMC about constructing new roads. A committee was appointed and later, the areas were marked and identification was done. The committee approved this. The process of land acquisition has started. The district collector’s office has issued orders that formalities should be started for acquiring the land for building seven roads in the development plan of Chikhali and Talwade. A list of affected citizens has been prepared. Accordingly, A and B forms will be issued and discussions will be held at the meeting.

 

 

Land will be acquired for following roads

 

1) Indraprastha Marriage Hall to Santpeeth 12 to 18 metre DP road
2) Sane Chowk to Chikhaligaon 12 to 24 metre, 30 metre wide road
3) Dehu Alandi to Sonawane Vasti 30 metre road
4) Chikhali Chowk to Sonawane Vasti 24 metre road
5) Triveni Nagar Road to Talwade Chowk 24 metre road
6) Talwade Canway Chowk to Nigdi Spine road 18 metre road
7) 12 metre road near the river and 24 metre road on Chikhali Talwade border

 

MLA Mahesh Landge said, “To strengthen the transport system, new roads have been proposed from outside Chikhali and Talwade villages. The traffic congestion being experienced by locals and villagers will be reduced because of the availability of 12 km of new alternative roads.”
