Pune: I will file nomination papers at 12 noon on April 12: Shivtare

Pune: Continuing with his tirade against Ajit Pawar, former state minister and Shiv Sena (BT) leader Vijay Shivtare has expressed his resolve to decimate Ajit Pawar in the election in Baramati.

Addressing a press conference in Baramati, he said, “I do not have support of any big party. I do not have manpower. But I have the backing of common people. I am going to appeal to them and hold rallies. I am going to speak on issues faced by people in the Baramati constituency. I am going to spread awareness among voters.”

Playing on the digit 12 (Bara) in Marathi, he said, “12 tarkhela, 12 vajata mi umedvari arj bharnar ahe. Ya pashvi shaktinche mi 12 vajavnar ahe (I will file nominations at 12 noon on April 12 and decimate the evil power (referring to the Pawars).”

Road shows in Baramati

Shivtare said, “I will get a poll symbol after filing my nominations. I will set up a mechanism to reach out to voters. I will go to the people by holding road shows. The NCP has spread its tentacles in rural areas and has captured strategic locations.”
