Pune Crime News | AEC 2 arrests man for cheating many youths by promising them jobs in Indian Army; Accused also cheated woman of ₹16 lakh
PUNE : Pune Crime News | An imposter has been arrested for cheating several youths by wearing a military uniform and promising them jobs in the Indian Army and exploiting a woman and cheating her of ₹16 lakh. The action was jointly taken by Pune police Crime Branch, AEC2, Pune city, Military Intelligence, Southern Command and Liaison Unit, Pune.
The accused has been identified as Pramod Bhimrao Yadav (27), a resident of Sangli district. The accused pretended to be an army officer and exploited a woman and cheated her of ₹16 lakh and an FIR had been registered at the Kondhwa police station under sections 406, 420, 376 (2) (N) and 377 of the IPC.
Army Intelligence, Southern Command, Liaison Unit Pune got information that the accused had cheated eight to nine youths by promising to get them jobs in the Indian Army. A team of AEC2 and Military Intelligence was formed. A technical probe was carried out and he was traced to Sangola in Jat taluka and was apprehended and arrested in connection with the FIR registered at the Kondhwa police station.
Meanwhile, Military Intelligence, Southern Command, Liaison Unit Pune questioned the complainant Ashok Bachhav (26), a resident of Nandgaon and eight others.
During the questioning, it came to light that the accused wore an army uniform and showed a fake ID card. He also told them that he was an army officer and promised to recruit other youths in the Indian Army and sent them a fake merit list and took ₹28.88 lakh and cheated them. An FIR had been registered at the Kondhwa police station.
It has come to light that the accused had four marriages. He is the son of a former armyman. He wanted to join the army but since he could not do so, he pretended to have got a job in the army and lied to his family. The Pune police have issued an appeal that if any person has been cheated by the accused, he should contact them.
The action was taken by AEC 2 PI Pratap Mankar, API Changdev Sajgane, PSI Srikant Chavan, PSI Mohandas Jadhav, policemen Vijay Gurav, Vinod Salunke, Sangram Shingare, Ishwar Andhale, Saidoba Bhojrao, Amol Pilane, Chetan Shirolkar, Army Intelligence, Southern Command Liaison Unit, Pune and technical probe was carried out by Crime Branch, Pune under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Satish Govekar.
