Pune Accident News | Man killed, another injured as speeding car collides with two-wheeler in Junnar taluka
PUNE : Pune Accident News | A speeding car proceeding towards Pune collided with a two-wheeler at Santwadi Phata on the Nashik-Pune highway in Junnar taluka. One of the persons travelling by the scooter died on the spot and the second person was seriously injured. The intensity of the collision was such that one of the persons riding on the two-wheeler was flung in the air before falling on the ground. The CCTV footage of the incident is now available.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Bhau Jedgule (58). Anil Maruti Nimse (52), a resident of Junnar taluka, has been seriously injured. An FIR has been registered against car driver Dr Ganesh Arun Wakchoure. Suresh Bhau Jedgule has lodged a complaint.
According to the police, Anil Nimse and Suresh Jedgule were riding a two-wheeler (BLA 6888) at Santwadi Phata on the side of the road. At that time, Dr Ganesh Arun Wakchoure was driving his car (MH14 FS 2377) at high speed and in a rash manner and collided with the two-wheeler.
The speed of the car was such that the person riding pillion was flung in the air and fell on the road. The second person was dragged with the two-wheeler by the car for some distance, the CCTV footage shows. Suresh Jedgule died on the spot and Anil Nimse was seriously injured and he is being treated in a private hospital. The Ale Phata police are probing the case.
