Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch property card for the village, 1.32 lakh people will benefit

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Swami Yojana’ scheme through video conferencing on Sunday. Under this scheme, property cards will be divided into physical property cards. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Friday described it as a historic step for rural India. After the launch of this scheme, people of rural areas will be able to use their property as a financial asset to avail any loan or financial benefits. This scheme will help in reducing legal disputes of land, prove to be a ownership entitlement plan.

According to the statement issued by the PMO, under the scheme, 1.32 lakh people will be able to download their land papers through an SMS link. In the first phase, 763 villages of six states will get the benefit of the scheme. It has 346 villages from Uttar Pradesh, 221 Haryana, 100 Maharashtra, 44 Madhya Pradesh, 50 Uttarakhand and 2 Karnataka. The SMS link will be sent to states except Maharashtra to download their land documents within a day. There is a fee on the property card in Maharashtra, so it can take up to a month there.

The Prime Minister’s Office said that during the launch of this scheme, a link will be sent to the mobile of 1 lakh property holders. With the help of this link, they will be able to download their property cards. After this, physical property cards will be distributed by the state governments.

People of all states other than Maharashtra will be handed physical property cards within one month of the launch of this scheme. Maharashtra has a provision to collect nominal cost on the property card. So, people of Maharashtra will be handed a property card within a month. The PMO said that this is the first time that property owners in rural areas are being benefited on such a large scale with the help of new technology.

During the launch of this scheme, PM Modi will also talk to the beneficiaries through videoconferencing. The SVAMITVA scheme will be launched within the Panchayati Raj scheme. The Panchayati Raj scheme was launched by PM Modi on April 24. This scheme will be launched in a phased manner between the years 2020 to 2024. About 6.62 lakh villages will be brought under its purview.
