Police inspector helps collect funds to eradicate drought back home

NPnews24 Online Pune: Staying true to his roots and keeping his conscience alive, this Police officer in Pune helped collect funds of at least Rs 1 lakh to help the drought-eradication measures by Paani Foundation in his village.

Police sub-inspector Dattatray Kale is presently stationed at the Bibvewadi police station. Although he has been around almost all of Maharashtra for his job, the officer never could forget his perennially drought-struck village of Shindi Budruk in Satara’s Maan taluka.

While Paani Foundation’s watershed management work has already begun in the village, in order to help aid the project financially Kale took assistance of several NGOs in the city to collect funds.

With help of NGOs like Anand Darshan Yuva Manch, Gautam Labdhi Foundation, Jain Conference Rashtriya Yuva Shakha, Lions Club of Platinum, and some good samaritans, Kale has been able to collect a total of Rs 1 lakh.

Kale has always been known to connect with the locals and help them in some way or the other, wherever he is posted. When in Gadchiroli, once he helped collect funds so that poor children could celebrate Diwali just like the rest.
