Pant sticker helps Mumbai Police solves Rs 30 lakhs jewellery theft

Mumbai:NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – Even though criminals consider themselves to be smart, it is said that some evidence remains of their crime. Of course, looking for this evidence requires sharp eyesight and brilliant intelligence.

The Gamdevi police station, Mumbai Police, arrested a thief with the help of his pant sticker in connection with Rs 30 lakhs jewellery heist. The accused Santosh Kumar Yadav was nabbed in Jharkhand.

Mahul Jain, a resident of Peddar Road, needed a young man for household work. A placement agency sent Santosh Kumar to Jain’s house on 30th October. After Jain accepted, he started work on the next day. As an identity card, he gave Jain Adhar card photocopy. While working, Santosh Kumar conducted a thorough inspection of Jain’s house. After working for two days, he decamped with gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 30 lakhs.

Jain complained to the Gamdevi police station on November 2 and gave Yadav’s Aadhar card to the police. When police started searching for him with the help of this Aadhar card, it was found to be bogus.

Police did not have any clue to find Yadav. At Jain’s house police found his pant and with the help of sticker on it, reached a tailor in Khar, Mumbai. The tailor told police about Yadav and his brother who had come to his shop. With the help of Yadav’s brother cops found out about his location in Jharkhand.

Yadav, after reaching Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), called the placement agency informing them that he is going to his native place in Jharkhand and asked them to inform him about any other job opening. The agency passed on his mobile number to police but by the cops reached the station he had left. Police alerted their counterpart from Kodarma in Jharkhand, who nabbed Yadav when he reached there.
